Reflecting on Memory and Places

“Golden Afternoon” brings a calm, elegant presence to any room.

Its gentle tones and golden accents create a sense of quiet sophistication, while the rich textures and high-quality framing add depth and refinement.

Perfect for spaces where serenity and story matter—whether it's a reading corner, hallway, or a place to pause and reflect—it invites a soft sense of connection.

For those whose travels shape the story of home

The inspiration for this painting came while sitting beneath the wide canopy of a stone pine in the warmth of an afternoon, overlooking the Atlantic ocean.

Having just returned back home to Portugal, I found myself reflecting on a recent visit to Venice, where I had seen Moorish-influenced patterns woven into architecture and design.

I was struck by how familiar they felt—how similar to what I’ve seen in Portugal.

In that moment, it all connected: two places, two histories, linked through beauty and memory.

This work captures my memories and reflection on that “Golden Afternoon”.

“In the rhythm of the afternoon, life slows to a reflective pace.”

Henry James

“Golden Afternoon”stands for connection—between places, patterns, and moments.

It speaks about the way beauty repeats itself across time and cultures, inviting us to pause and recognize that everything is interwoven.

A reminder that the life we’re living is already a tapestry, threaded with memory, light, and presence.

This piece is created with acrylic on high-quality artist paper.

It is professionally framed in an elegant, timeless gold frame that complements the warmth and depth of the painting.

The framing was chosen with care to enhance the overall experience of the piece — sophisticated, durable, and ready to be a lasting presence in any space.
