Happiness is found in the simple pleasures often overlooked.

“The Little Things” is a reflection on the quiet joy found in everyday life.

The painting speaks of moments so small they might go unnoticed, like the rhythm of waves on the shore and the simple act of stacking beach pebbles to a small totem.

Meaning rarely waits in the grand or the distant. It lives here, in the smallest moments and waits to be discovered. The humble little things often reveal life’s greatest treasures.

For those who treasure the little things that

make life great.

The inspiration for The Little Things came during a quiet walk along the beach.

I noticed a small tower of stones that somebody had balanced carefully on the sand — fragile, temporary, yet filled with presence.

The builder of this totem had long moved on, but the stones standing as quiet witnesses that someone had truly been there, fully in the moment, when one stone was placed upon another with patience and care.

To live in such presence takes practice, just as balancing the stones does.

“Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realise, they were the big things.”

Robert Broult

The Little Things stands for the richness and happiness one can find hidden in life’s simplest moments.

Life’s meaning doesn’t wait in grand gestures but unfolds gently in the ordinary. Moments are fleeting and need to be cherished before they pass by.

As I came to understand through this work, “It is the acquired knowledge of the lost moment that fulfills us with appreciation for the little things in life.”
— Tina McEvoy

The Little Things is painted on a flat-edge canvas approximately 1.5 cm deep. The edges are finished in black, giving the work a subtle, elegant border.

The soft seascape brings a natural, calming presence to any room and radiates a sense of freedom while easing stress.

The carefully balanced pebble totem adds a meditative touch, whilst subtle azulejo patterns connect the work to Portugal and its beautiful beaches.

Ready to hang with fittings included, the painting can be displayed on its own or complemented by a contemporary frame, if you wish.
